West Middle School Civil War Assembly

Mon., April 6 at 8:35 a.m. at West Middle School
West Middle School students will participate in an assembly led by Civil War enthusiast Michael Deren.

Deren, who regularly participates in Civil War reenactments, will help students learn about the life and times of Civil War soldiers. In addition, students will see and hear a musical presentation on American "Roots" music by professional musicians Matt Watroba and Robert Jones. "Roots" music is what links the many styles of American traditional music together and ties this traditional music to modern American music.
