WSDP Student Honored with National Award

Canton High School junior, Sean Fitzpatrick, was honored with a John Drury High School Radio Award. North Central College in Naperville, Ill. sponsored the national high school awards. He received first place in the Best Newscast category for his anchoring of Newsfile at 5:30 p.m. on 88.1FM.

Sean was also a finalist in the Best Public Affairs Program category along with Salem High School graduate Timothy Thompson. The award was presented Nov. 7, 2009 in suburban Chicago. The competition is named in honor of John Drury, the award-winning ABC-Chicago news anchor.

WSDP is owned and operated by the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools. The station is celebrating 37 years of serving the Plymouth-Canton Community.
