Plymouth-Canton Marching Band is Named State Champions

The Plymouth-Canton Marching Band received top honors for flight I at the 2009 Michigan Competing Band Association championship event held on Sat., Nov. 7 at Ford Field in Detroit. With a final score of 91.35, the PCMB won all three caption awards including Best Marching, and Best General Effect.
The Plymouth-Canton Marching Band is enjoying another award-winning year including a first place finish at the Woodhaven High School Invitational (Sept. 19), named Class AAAA Champions and a second place finish at the Bands of America Ypsilanti Regional Finals Competition (Oct.10 ), and a first place finish at the Huron Valley Invitational (Oct.31).

With little time to celebrate the success of their State Championship, the PCMB is currently in Indianapolis for the Bands of America Grand National Championship this weekend in Indianapolis. Last year’s band made it to the Grand National Finals round, placing eleventh out of 96 bands in the nation. PCMB last won the national championship in 1999.
