2010 Auction 001

The Escape 88.1 (WSDP-FM) presented their 22nd Radio Auction on Saturday May 15, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Assisting the student broadcasters were guest announcers, including several members of the P-CCS Board of Education.

The Radio Auction is WSDP’s main fundraiser each year. Items donated by Plymouth-Canton area businesses were auctioned off every half-hour. The auction was broadcast on 88.1 FM and listeners were able to support the station by calling in bids throughout the day.

There were many great items up for bid including autographed memorabilia, restaurant gift certificates and services from local businesses. A Dream Board of the more unique items was available for bidding all day long.

“We’re blessed by the support of so many businesses in our community,” said Rodney Harris, Canton Senior and WSDP Program Director. “We couldn’t do this auction without their generous assistance.”

Paige Heaven, Salem Senior and WSDP Fundraising Director, “It's a fun event to listen to and it provides a major portion of our fundraising each year.”

Bidders were also able to listen to the auction via the station’s live web feed at http://www.881TheEscape.com The website featured a complete list of auction items.

Last year the station raised $9,000 and this year the goal was $10,000.

WSDP is owned and operated by the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools. The station is celebrating 38 years of serving the Plymouth-Canton Community.
